Overview 

The English as a Second language (ESL) program at GateWay Community College has served the immigrant, refugee and non-native English speaking communities of the greater Phoenix area for many years.  We understand that learning a language is a complex and individual process.  In our program, well-trained instructors work with learners to improve their language skills through focused practice in reading, writing, listening, speaking, pronunciation and grammar along with instruction in language learning strategies.
